Del Toro Previews Dynamic, Violent Film 'Fury' with Oscar Isaac at TIFF, Likened to 'My Dinner with Andre' but featuring fatal encounters
Guillermo del Toro, the renowned filmmaker recognized for his unique style and dark, intricate narratives, has revealed a new project titled 'Delta'. The 60-year-old director is currently crafting the script for this upcoming film, which promises to explore themes of regret and violence.
Del Toro's upcoming project, 'Delta', is shaping up to be a violent picture, much like his previous work on 'Nightmare Alley' and 'My Dinner with Andre'. The film will reunite del Toro with Oscar Isaac, who will star in the movie. The specific role for Jacob Elordi in 'Delta' has not been disclosed yet, but the film is described as a murderous thriller that revolves around a dinner where guests are gradually eliminated.
Meanwhile, del Toro's stop-motion adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro's novel, 'The Buried Giant', is also in the works. This epic project will not be for children, as it explores the capacity to act and fuses a world similar to a live-action project. The stop-motion adaptation will be Guillermo del Toro's home at ShadowMachine's studio, the same production home base for his previously released stop-motion project, 'Pinocchio'.
Del Toro's 'The Buried Giant' adaptation will not be for the faint of heart, as it shares similarities with his darker works like 'Nightmare Alley' and 'My Dinner with Andre'. The film will not be suitable for younger audiences.
In other news, del Toro's previous collaboration, 'Frankenstein', will debut in select theaters on Oct. 17, with a wider release on Netflix on Nov. 7. The film, which del Toro worked on, promises to be a haunting and visually stunning adaptation of the classic tale.
As del Toro enters what he refers to as his 'regret decade', fans can expect his new projects to reflect this introspective period in his life. With 'Delta' and 'The Buried Giant' on the horizon, it seems that del Toro's exploration of the human condition and the darkness within us will continue to captivate audiences.
