Degersheim's Winter Sports Season Ends Weeks Early Due to Poor Weather

Degersheim's winter sports season has come to an abrupt end. Both the local ski lift and cross-country trails shut down weeks ahead of schedule. Unfavourable weather conditions forced operators to close early for 2025/26.

The Degersheim Ski Lift Company and the Degersheim Cross-Country Ski Club confirmed the early closure. Their facilities managed just a handful of operating days before shutting down. The ski lift ran for only four days, while the cross-country trails stayed open for five.

Snowfall was scarce, and temperatures remained too high for reliable winter conditions. Despite hopes for a late-season recovery, the weather failed to improve. With no signs of change, officials made the decision to end operations prematurely.

The shortened season leaves Degersheim with one of its briefest winter sports periods on record. Both the ski lift and trails will now remain closed until next winter. No further details have been released about wider closures across Switzerland.
