Degerschlacht's Halloween House Returns Bigger and Better Than Ever
Preparations for the annual Halloween House event in Degerschlacht are in full swing. Since Saturday, the Hirschburger family and their team have been working tirelessly, despite heavy rain and wind, to set up a large tent for the Haunted Walk and intricate decorations. The house on Menzelstraße is ready to host its Night of Ghosts and the Undead, with the event set to be bigger and better than ever.
The Halloween House tradition began in 2012 when the Hirschburger, Jooss, and Campanale families placed four pumpkins in front of their house. Since then, the event has grown significantly, with the house now featuring hauntingly beautiful lights, unsettling sounds, and lurking figures that can move and speak. The basement area, in particular, is a highlight, with elaborate decorations that improve each year.
The event is primarily intended for neighbors, friends, and acquaintances, but it has become such a spectacle that it's worth seeing for anyone in the area. The initiative has even spread to the neighbors, with Degerschlacht slowly transforming into a Halloween village. This year, visitors can expect an annual surprise, following last year's Haunted Wedding.
