Green Bay Packers Re-Sign Former Cornerback Corey Ballentine

The Green Bay Packers have strengthened their cornerback depth by re-signing Corey Ballentine, who previously played for the team from 2022 to 2024.

Ballentine's return to the Packers comes after a brief stint with the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts signed him as an unrestricted free agent in March 2025 but released him on August 1, 2025, when they brought in cornerback Chris Lammons.

During his time with the Packers, Ballentine played a total of 40 games, including 37 regular-season games and three playoff games over the past three seasons. He made a significant impact, recording a career high of 43 tackles and 7 passes defensed during the 2023 season, where he started 6 games.

To make room for Ballentine, the Packers released cornerback Gregory Junior. Junior, who played with the Jacksonville Jaguars for one game in 2022 and nine games in 2023, was let go to facilitate Ballentine's return.

Prior to joining the Packers, Ballentine played for the New York Giants (2019-20), New York Jets (2020), and Detroit Lions (2021).

The Packers are confident that Ballentine's experience and performance with the team in the past will be beneficial as they prepare for the upcoming season. Ballentine's primary role with the Packers last season was on special teams, where he played in 15 games.

The Packers signed Ballentine on August 4, 2025, marking his return to the team. The Indianapolis Colts, on the other hand, now have a roster spot open following Ballentine's release.

The Packers have added a boost to their American-football squad, particularly in the sports of football, with the re-signing of Corey Ballentine, who previously played with the team from 2022 to 2024. The NFL competition will witness Ballentine's return, as he had a brief stint with the Indianapolis Colts in 2025.
