Blood Vengeance Trial: Accused Remain Mute During Proceedings - Defense yet to respond to accusations.

In a dramatic turn of events, a trial is currently underway at the Bielefeld Regional Court, Germany. The case revolves around an alleged act of blood revenge, triggered by the brutal killing of professional boxer Besar Nimani.

Besar Nimani, a German national born in Kosovo, was the victim of a fatal shooting in Bielefeld, where he was shot 16 times. The motive behind his murder remains unclear, as it could not be clarified in the first trial.

Months after the murder, Nimani's brother and sister, both German citizens born in Kosovo, allegedly armed themselves to retaliate against the perpetrator's family. The trial for this case of blood revenge is taking place at the Bielefeld Regional Court.

The defendants in the trial are the brother and the sister, who are accused of attempted murder. The brother, a 41-year-old, stated in a letter from his detention cell that he did not intend to kill with his shots, but only to injure.

Three of the injured were relatives of a man who was later convicted of premeditated murder in April. Four people were injured, some critically, in the incident, which occurred outside the courthouse after a hearing for Nimani's murder in February 2025.

The brother accused the investigating authorities of not conducting sufficient investigations against the family of the shooter. His father and brother are said to have at least been instigators or accomplices in the alleged incident.

The trial dates for the case have been set until October. The Bielefeld Regional Court is the location of the trial, and the proceedings began with the reading out of the brother's letter from his detention cell on the first day of the trial.

The motive behind the brother and sister's actions reportedly stems from blood revenge—retaliation against the family believed responsible for Nimani's murder. This trial centers on a familial blood revenge cycle, a serious criminal matter that is being tried at the regional court.

  1. The scandal of the blood revenge case, instigated due to the unsolved murder of professional boxer Besar Nimani in Germany, has moved into the realm of EC countries' general-news, raising concerns about employment policy within the community as it delves into familial disputes that have escalated into violent crimes.
  2. As the crime-and-justice sphere grapples with the unfolding blood revenge trial in Bielefeld Regional Court, the implication of politics can be seen, not only in the dynamics of familial relationships leading to such violent incidents but also in the accusations made by the defendants against the investigating authorities for inadequate investigation.
