Flashback to 2023—the youngster Miles Pfeffer, aged 20 now, got slapped with all charges under the sun, including first-degree murder. The accusations also included criminal homicide of a law enforcement officer, disarming an officer, robbery, theft, evading arrest, and weapons crimes.
The jury, deliberating over Pfeffer's fate, returned a verdict in under 30 minutes on June 25, 2025.
Pfeffer's story took a dark turn after Philadelphia police officer Chris Fitzgerald, age 31, stumbled upon three miscreants dressed in black with masks on, lurking in a neighborhood marred by a series of robberies and carjackings in February 2023. As two of the suspects skedaddled, Officer Fitzgerald relentlessly pursued the third one, Pfeffer according to the police[1][5].
Allegedly, the chase ended with Pfeffer and the officer having a tumultuous face-off, leading to Pfeffer pulling a firearm and unleashing six shots towards the unsuspecting officer[1][4]. Shortly after, he made a run for it and commandeered a nearby vehicle[1]. On the following day, Pfeffer got nabbed on a farm property in Bucks County[1][5].
