A Day Celebrating Kuwait-Africa Connections:

The Africa Day bash, hosted in the heart of Kuwait and graced by Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya, showcased the long-running, robust ties between Kuwait and African nations. The event, themed "Cooperation for Enhanced Kuwaiti Investment in Africa Toward a Strategic Partnership," served as a testament to Kuwait's continued devotion to fostering cooperation and camaraderie with the African continent.

Organized by diplomats and African ambassadors accredited to Kuwait, the festivities offered an opportunity for Al-Yahya to extend warm congratulations to the African nations and express Kuwait's dedication to bolstering collaborative efforts.

Al-Yahya expressed immense pride in Kuwait's long-standing association with the African continent, particularly through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED). Established in 1961, KFAED has been instrumental in funding critical infrastructure projects and supporting essential development initiatives across the continent.

During the event, Dr. Al-Arif Said Hassan, the Ambassador of the Union of the Comoros, expressed his appreciation for Kuwait's ongoing support for African nations. Speaking of the event's significance, he praised the warm environment and lauded the country's commitment to Africa.

Highlighting the 61st anniversary of the African Union, Ambassador Hassan emphasized the need for strategic partners like Kuwait to bolster Africa's developmental aspirations, using the Kuwait Fund's successful initiatives in partnership with the African Development Bank as a prime example.

In addition to speeches and celebrations, the event offered an art exhibition featuring artworks by African artists and musical performances by African folklore troupes. The commemoration underscored the strong cultural bonds shared by Kuwait and the African nations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Somali Ambassador Abdullah Mohamed Sheikh Abdullah echoed the sentiments of Kuwait's crucial role as a development partner for Africa. He recognized the continent's potential, richness in natural resources, and dynamic population.

The Ambassador acknowledged Kuwait's essential role in resolving conflicts peacefully, participating in counter-terrorism initiatives, supporting development through KFAED projects, and addressing food security challenges across the African Union countries.

As the celebration unfolded, it served as both a commemoration of a cherished occasion and a reaffirmation of friendship, shared aspirations, and enduring cooperation between Kuwait and Africa.

In the context of the Africa Day bash, Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya spoke about politics and general news, expressing Kuwait's ongoing commitment to bolstering collaborative efforts with African nations and acknowledging the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development's (KFAED) influential role in African development. Later, Somali Ambassador Abdullah Mohamed Sheikh Abdullah mentioned Kuwait's essential role in resolving conflicts and addressing food security challenges across the African Union countries, addressing matters of both politics and general news.
