Thailand Weather Forecast for August 11-14, 2025

Thailand is set to experience a change in weather patterns from August 11 to 14, 2025. After a period of scattered thunderstorms and isolated heavy rain from July 31 to August 10, a temporary drop in rainfall is expected, with predominantly dry or scattered shower conditions, especially in the far north and far northeast.

However, following this brief respite, heavy rains are anticipated in specific regions, particularly the far north and northeast provinces. The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) has issued a 15-day forecast, predicting an increase in heavy rain and thunderstorms especially in these regions from August 11-14.

The heavy rain will be influenced by a low-pressure system over Vietnam and the southwest monsoon. The North, Northeast, Central Plains, and eastern regions will be most affected, with Bangkok and its surrounding provinces also included. The rain in most regions during this period is expected to intensify and be widespread.

In the North, provinces such as Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Chiang Rai, as well as northeastern provinces like Nong Khai and Nakhon Phanom, are likely to experience heavier precipitation and thunderstorm risks. Coastal regions like the Andaman Sea may experience moderate to occasionally rough seas due to thunderstorms, with wave heights around 1 to 2 meters, rising over 2 meters during storm events.

Temperature ranges during these days are expected to be generally between 23°C to 37°C depending on the region, with humidity levels high due to the monsoon. Southern provinces will still experience evening thunderstorms, but the intensity will not reach the level of heavy rain predicted for the North, Northeast, Central Plains, and eastern regions.

For those planning travel in flood-affected northern areas, route checks are strongly recommended before departure. It's important to note that there are no signs of tropical cyclone formation affecting Thailand in the forecast period.

This forecast reflects the typical August weather in Thailand, dominated by the southwest monsoon that brings variable but generally wet conditions, especially in the northern and northeastern areas. The TMD does not predict any resurgence of heavy rain between August 11-14 in the upper regions, as previously forecasted from August 10 to 10.

Stay tuned for further updates on the weather conditions in Thailand.

Weather forecasting predicts an increase in heavy rain and thunderstorms in the North, Northeast, Central Plains, and eastern regions of Thailand from August 11-14, 2025, as stated by the Thai Meteorological Department. After a brief respite of dry or scattered shower conditions, following a period of scattered thunderstorms and isolated heavy rain, these regions can expect a return to heavy rain patterns.
