decrease in criminal incidents at Glastonbury festival 2013: police announcement
Updated Glastonbury Festival Report
Michael Eavis hails the 2023 Glastonbury Festival as a triumph, and the cops concur by announcing a 33% drop in crime compared to the 2011 festivities. Under the radiant sun, Avon and Somerset Police reported a total of 220 crimes and 154 arrests.
The main offenses included 61 drug-related incidents and 106 thefts from tents. No significant incidents marred the festivities. Speaking on the matter, Inspector Shirley Eden beamed, "We're thrilled with the festival's outcome. The atmosphere's been sensational, and crime is remarkably low."
She extended her gratitude to the overwhelming majority of festival-goers for their cooperation, good spirit, and cautious handling of their belongings. "Have a terrific rest of the fest, and drive home safely over the next 24 hours," she added.
Tonight, Mumford and Sons will rule the Pyramid Stage, but they've got their work cut out for them to outshine the rollicking Rolling Stones' headlining performance from last night. Let the party continue!
