Decision Proposal on Implementing New Regulations by the Commission.
City Council Members Criticize Mayor Over Funding and Family-Friendly Policies
A dispute has arisen between the city council members and Mayor Peter Boch of Pforzheim over funding and family-friendly policies. The council members have accused Mayor Boch of wasting funds on a traffic policy that does not benefit Kita personnel or children, while neglecting cuts to Kita personnel that they believe are very disadvantageous and not being addressed by the current administration.
The issue at hand is the inclusion of dual vocational trainees in childcare. In August 2017, both the SPD and WiP/Die Linke city council factions made a joint request to withdraw budget cuts for Kita personnel. The WiP/Die Linke city council members have pointed out that this request is relevant to the current application by the SPD municipal council faction, which aims to revoke the inclusion of dual vocational trainees in childcare.
The SPD municipal council faction submitted their application last week, causing surprise among the city council members. The WiP/Die Linke city council members have expressed their surprise, finding it incomprehensible why this has not happened yet. They have also criticized Mayor Boch for not following through on family-friendly policies, instead wasting funds on outdated traffic policies.
The city council members argue that they placed the ball for family-friendly policies at the beginning of Mayor Boch's term, but he has not scored a success in this area. They explain that they adopted the demand of the overall parents' council of Pforzheim's day-care facilities and members of the youth welfare committee.
The topic of PiA and all other cuts to Kita personnel has been discussed in the youth welfare committee since mid-last year. The city council members believe that the actions of the administration do not align with their words regarding family-friendly politics. They believe that the cuts to Kita personnel are very disadvantageous and are not being addressed by the current administration.
Mayor Boch, who is being criticized by WiP/Die Linke members for not submitting an earlier request to lift the personnel service relationship for dual trainees in daycare facilities, has not yet submitted a resolution proposal for the withdrawal of budget cuts for Kita personnel. The city council members believe that this is a missed opportunity to improve the lives of Kita personnel and the children they care for.
The city council members have urged Mayor Boch to reconsider his stance on this matter and to prioritize family-friendly policies in his administration. They believe that by revoking the inclusion of dual vocational trainees in childcare, they can make a significant improvement in the lives of Kita personnel and the children they care for.
