December 2025: How Life of Kazakhstanis and Businessmen Will Change
Kazakhstan has announced several key changes and events for December 2025. New transport options, financial schemes, and public safety campaigns will roll out at the start of the month. Schools will also close for winter break later in December, while Independence Day remains a single-day observance.
From December 1, 2025, residents can lease new vehicles with the option to buy them later or return them. Major banks—including Halyk Bank, Kaspi Bank, and Eurasian Bank—will partner with automakers like Hyundai, Kia, and Chery to offer credit-backed purchase programmes.
That same day, SCAT Airlines will launch three new air routes connecting Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will also begin a safety campaign focused on gas cylinder handling, New Year fireworks, and pyrotechnics. Public service centres in Astana and Almaty will relocate and adjust their opening hours in early December. Schools across the country will then close for a 10-day winter break, running from December 29, 2025, to January 7, 2026. Independence Day on December 16 will be observed as usual, with no extra public holidays or shortened workdays.
The changes take effect at different points in December. Vehicle leasing and air travel options expand on the 1st, while safety campaigns and service centre updates follow shortly after. Schoolchildren will then begin their break, with Independence Day marked mid-month as a standard working day.
