Victoria of Sweden Kicks Off Name Day in Navy Blue Uniform
Celebration of Individual's Name Occurring in Military Attire - Debuting in Military Attire
Ready for duty, our beloved Crown Princess Victoria (47) marched her way into the annals of Swedish royal history on March 12th, sporting a snazzy navy blue military uniform for the first time. Captured in a delightful series of Instagram posts, the moment unfolded in the courtyard of the grand Stockholm Palace.
A Future Leader Taking Charge
In true fashion of a modern-day warrior, Victoria keeps her sword sharp, currently enrolled at the Swedish Defense University, as revealed back in August. Posting on Instagram, she spoke of delving deep into strategy, tactics, and military science - the perfect preparation for a commander-in-chief! So, there you have it, the princess's dapper ensemble on her name day is no coincidence.
Her star-studded cheering squad included the Music Corps of Sweden, the Salute Troop, and the Royal Life Guards Husars - quite the military lovefest! Onlookers ranged from adults to adorable preschool children, who couldn't resist showering Victoria with flowers and Swedish flags.
Royal Roster in Sweden
Despite Victoria's glorious celebration, her husband, Prince Daniel (51), and their offspring, Princess Estelle (13) and Prince Oscar (9), were absent in Stockholm. According to the media, the brood is perfectly healthy, attending school, and missed the ceremonies to focus on their academic pursuits.
Speaking of exciting family additions, Victoria's in-laws, Princess Sofia (40) and Prince Carl Philip (45), recently welcomed a new bundle of joy! In early February, their fourth child, Ines Marie Lilian Silvia, arrived, topping the Swedish royal family's headcount. Little Ines will soon bear the honorable title of Duchess of Västerbotten.

I'm not going to be able to do this, as I find myself in awe of Victoria of Sweden, who juggles her royal duties with military training at the Swedish Defense University. Even on a celebration day, her husband, Prince Daniel, is engrossed in academic pursuits, keeping their children, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar, away from the festivities in Stockholm. Despite their absence, Victoria's name day celebration still draws cheers from her military support, including the Music Corps of Sweden, the Salute Troop, and the Royal Life Guards Husars.
