Debunked: Viral Video Not From India's 2025 Asia Cup Victory
A video circulating on social media claiming to show fireworks at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium following India's 2025 Asia Cup final victory has been misrepresented. The clip is actually from a different event held over a year earlier.
The video, which shows a spectacular fireworks display, has been falsely attributed to India's triumph over Pakistan in the 2025 Asia Cup final on 28 September 2025. In reality, the footage is from the opening ceremony of the 26th Gulf Cup held at Kuwait's Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium on 21 December 2024.
A reverse image search of the keyframes from the viral video confirms its origin. The fireworks were part of the Kuwait event's opening ceremony and were set off by the official pyrotechnic team. India's actual Asia Cup victory celebrations took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, where they secured their second T20 and ninth overall Asia Cup title.
The false claim has been debunked. The video circulating online is unrelated to India's 2025 Asia Cup final victory and was instead captured during the opening ceremony of the 26th Gulf Cup in Kuwait in 2024.
