Autopsy Report Released: What Led to the Demise of Ozzy Osbourne - Death record issued confirming the demise of Ozzy Osbourne

In a tragic turn of events, legendary rock star Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22 at the age of 76. The death certificate, obtained by the New York Times and others, revealed that he died of a heart attack (acute myocardial infarction) caused by coronary artery disease, with Parkinson’s disease and autonomic dysfunction listed as joint contributing causes.

Ozzy Osbourne's struggle with coronary heart disease was a long and complex one. He had been battling Parkinson’s disease for years, officially announcing it in 2020, but reportedly dealing with it since 2003. The chronic illness often complicates cardiovascular health due to autonomic nervous system dysfunction. His coronary artery disease, caused by the buildup of plaque in the arteries leading to the heart, contributed to his fatal heart attack.

Throughout his life, Ozzy Osbourne faced numerous health challenges. He experienced a decline in health following multiple injuries, including a serious quad biking accident in 2003 and a fall in 2019, which also coincided with his Parkinson’s diagnosis. These incidents likely exacerbated his overall health challenges, although specific references to how they impacted his coronary heart disease are not detailed.

Despite his health struggles, Ozzy Osbourne remained optimistic, expressing hope that he had another ten years to live. He even published a satirical health guide on his 64th birthday. In his final months, he performed a farewell concert in July 2025, just weeks before his death, where he acknowledged his frailty but stayed connected with his fans.

On the day of his death, emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to his family home in Buckinghamshire, indicating a sudden cardiac event.

Ozzy Osbourne co-founded the band Black Sabbath, considered a pioneer of heavy metal. He performed with Black Sabbath in their original formation three weeks before his death. After his passing, Black Sabbath’s music returned to the German charts, with their classic album "Paranoid" reaching number 29 and the single "Paranoid" reaching number 70.

The death certificate was filed by Ozzy's daughter Aimee Osbourne at the London registrar's office. Black Sabbath sold over 75 million albums during their career, a testament to Ozzy Osbourne's enduring influence on the music industry.
