In an unfortunate incident, a renowned extreme sports athlete, Dean Potter, met his demise during a wingsuit jump from a towering 3,450-meter-high mountain peak in the heart of the French Alps - Pointe Trifide, La Grave. The stark reality was confirmed by the local public prosecutor's office, as per France 3 and "Le Dauphiné Libéré."
According to the latest reports, Potter, a local mountain guide, and another sportsman leapt from the mountain's edge together. The second jumper successfully landed in the valley, while unfortunate Potter met his end at the foot of the Trifide. As per the mayor of La Grave, Jean-Pierre Pic, "They jumped together, and one crashed at the foot of Trifide." The local mountain police have initiated an investigation to shed light on the circumstances that led to this fatal accident.
Known for defying the boundaries of extreme sports, Potter was a globally celebrated climber, BASE jumper, and wingsuit flyer. Regrettably, Potter suffered a tragic end during a similar wingsuit flight in the French Alps back in 2015, marking another chapter of his life in the annals of extreme sports.
