Deadly Shooting in New York Leaves At Least Three Victims
In the heart of Brooklyn, New York, a shocking incident unfolded early Sunday morning, August 17th, 2025, at the Taste of the City Lounge. The incident, described as horrifying and not typical for the metropolis of New York, has left a trail of devastation in its wake.
NYPD President Jessica Tisch made the sombre announcement of the victims, confirming that at least eleven people were struck by bullets in the shooting, with three of them tragically losing their lives due to their injuries. The responding emergency services found 36 shell casings at the scene, suggesting the use of multiple firearms and shooters.
The investigation is ongoing, and so far, two suspects have been identified. Marvin St. Louis, a 19-year-old, was one of the shooters and was killed in the incident. Another shooter, Jamel Childs, aged 32, was also killed. Childs was associated with the Folk Nation gang.
However, two other alleged shooters involved in the incident are still on the run. The NYPD is working diligently to identify and apprehend them. The shooting is believed to be gang-related, but the exact motive remains unclear.
