DCU Announces All Movies and Television Series Confirmed to Date
The DC Universe is gearing up for an exciting lineup of new projects, featuring beloved characters such as Superman, Batman, and many more. Here's a rundown of the upcoming films and series that fans can look forward to.
In July 2025, audiences will be treated to "Superman Legacy," a movie focusing on a younger Clark Kent. This film explores the young Superman as he navigates his Kryptonian heritage and human upbringing, marking a major entry in the new DC Universe (DCU).
The following year, in 2026, "The Authority" is set to hit the big screen. Details about this film are scarce, but it is confirmed as an upcoming DCU project.
Two other projects, "Booster Gold" and "Batman: The Brave and the Bold," are in development but lack specified release dates. "Booster Gold" is a live-action TV series, while "Batman: The Brave and the Bold" is an animated or live-action movie focusing on Batman.
Moving on to other DCU projects, "Lanterns," a TV show featuring Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart, is slated for late 2026. Although it does not directly feature Batman or Superman, Superman’s cousin and other related characters may appear across the connected DCU narratives.
Another upcoming film is "Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow," set for June 26, 2026. This movie expands the Superman family universe within the DCU but does not directly include the core characters mentioned.
In the realm of television, "Waller," a solo show about Amanda Waller, is being written by Watchmen's Christal Henry. The armored hero Blue Beetle will also return in an animated sequel series, with Xolo Maridueña reprising his role from the original film.
The DC Universe is being overseen by James Gunn and Peter Safran. In the animated realm, Arthur Mintz will direct the film "Dynamic Duo," which depicts the origins of two Robins, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd.
On the live-action front, Craig Gillespie is directing the film "Supergirl," which will adapt Tom King's recent comic book of the same name and premiere in theaters on June 26, 2026.
In the world of animation, James Gunn is working on "Creature Commandos," an animated series featuring a new black-ops team led by Rick Flag Sr. This series has been renewed for a second season, which will air in December 2024.
Lastly, "Peacemaker," an antihero, will have a second season in 2025, featuring Rick Flag Sr., Sasha Bordeaux, and A.R.G.U.S. agent Langston Fleury. Mike Flanagan's screenplay for a Clayface movie has also been greenlit, with James Watkins serving as the director.
