DBS Bank Expands Rewards to Singapore's Gaming Community

DBS Bank has expanded its rewards ecosystem to cater to Singapore's growing gaming community. The bank has integrated Mastercard's Gamer Exchange, becoming the first in Singapore to offer this service. This move allows DBS cardholders to redeem points for gaming credits across various popular platforms.

The integration of Mastercard's Gamer Exchange enables DBS cardholders to unlock gaming value with even small point balances, reducing expired points. This expansion is part of DBS's strategy to offer lifestyle-driven benefits, reflecting the increasing popularity of gaming in Singapore and globally.

The Singapore gaming market is projected to exceed US$1.13 billion by 2030, with over 2.1 million users, predominantly playing on mobile devices. Meanwhile, the global gaming industry is expected to generate about US$363 billion by 2027, with Asia Pacific leading as the largest gaming hub. DBS cardholders can now redeem points for gaming credits on platforms like EA Sports FC, Call of Duty, PUBG, Honor of Kings, Steam, Roblox, Xbox, and the PlayStation Store, using the DBS PayLah! app or DBS Rewards online.

DBS's integration of Mastercard's Gamer Exchange into its rewards ecosystem is a strategic move that caters to the growing gaming community. This expansion allows DBS cardholders to enjoy gaming perks with modest point balances, reducing point expiry and offering more value. DBS plans to roll out this programme to other key regional markets in the future.
