Daystar TV Child Sexual Abuse Investigation Concluded by Colleyville Police; No Charges Turned Over

After a 18-month-long investigation, the Colleyville Police Department has finally wrapped up their work on child sexual abuse allegations that rocked the heart of Daystar Television Network, a globally broadcast religious network founded by the Lamb family.

No charges were levied against the suspect, reportedly a male family member, due to the lack of evidence found by the police department, as stated by Sgt. Dara Nelson in an email to KERA News. The victim did not come forward with an outcry, and no tangible evidence of the crime was unearthed, causing the Tarrant County District Attorney’s office to refuse the case because of insufficiency.

Hailing from Bedford, Daystar has amassed a following not only in the United States but worldwide with its diverse array of programming that includes prominent religious figures such as Kenneth Copeland and T.D. Jakes.

The allegations first surfaced in late 2023 when Jonathan Lamb and his wife, Suzy, disclosed to The Roys Report that their daughter declared being sexually abused by the accused family member. Joni Lamb, Jonathan’s mother, publicly dismissed those allegations.

Daystar released a statement on March 1st, asserting that the initial police report had been filed several years prior and involved claims of abuse by an unnamed classmate before the Lamb family member was implicated in November 2023. The organization claimed it had fully cooperated with the investigation, and the accused individual, identified as "Pete," voluntarily agreed to speak with the police and passed polygraph tests.

"The absence of any evidence of any wrongdoing by Pete underscores the fact that there was never any mismanagement, as some have erroneously suggested on social media, on the part of Daystar and its leadership," Daystar's statement read.

The allegations emerged at a time when Jonathan Lamb announced his decision to step away from Daystar, with divergent accounts surrounding his departure emerging between Jonathan and his mother.

Joni Lamb explained her son's separation from Daystar as a consequence of a 15-month review of his performance and his refusal to meet the requirements of a detailed performance improvement plan. However, Jonathan Lamb attributed his ousting from the network's board and his former role as Vice President to his refusal to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

In a post on March 1st, Suzy Lamb said that she remained convinced that the case would re-open when new evidence surfaced or the child decided to come forward.

"The situation is left open-ended as the stream of time flows and the child grows older, possibly providing more details about the incident when she becomes an adult,” her post read.

Texas law maintains that there is no statute of limitations for child sexual abuse cases, implying that the case can be reopened in the future if additional proof arises or the victim offers clearer information.
