Germany is set to experience a shift in its weather pattern, with a brief unsettled phase beginning on Monday followed by summery conditions for the remainder of the week.

According to the German Weather Service (DWD), Saturday and Sunday will be mostly cloudy, partly rainy. The west and southwest of Germany will see the sun most frequently and will remain dry for longer periods.

Starting Monday, Germany’s weather will feature a weak warm front moving across the eastern parts of the country in the morning, bringing some rain and extensive cloud cover there. In the afternoon, clouds will thin from the west with increasing sunshine, and temperatures will rise slightly to around 22 °C in the east and 25–27 °C in the west and south.

On Tuesday, a cold front is expected to arrive in the second half of the day, particularly affecting central and eastern Alpine areas with showers, while the west remains mostly sunny. Temperatures will be summery, around 26 °C in the east and up to 30 °C in the west and south.

From Wednesday onwards, high pressure will generally dominate, leading to often sunny and increasingly hot midsummer-like conditions. ECMWF long-range forecasts for August 2025 indicate daytime temperatures in central Europe, including Germany, mostly between 28 and 32 °C with the possibility of heatwaves in mid-August, and below normal rainfall with only 3–5 rainy days and a total of about 30–50 mm of rain.

The weekend weather forecast in Germany is for showers, thunderstorms, and heavy rain. Scattered showers and individual thunderstorms will occur across Germany on Sunday, with maximum temperatures ranging from 17 to 22 degrees Celsius.

After Tuesday, summer will gradually return to the south of Germany, with partly sunny conditions and rising temperatures. However, wind will play a lesser role in the coming days, but can briefly become strong to stormy in conjunction with showers and thunderstorms.

In northern Germany, a storm will cause windy conditions, with gusts reaching storm force at the coasts and in the high north. The driest conditions will be in the northeast of Germany.

It's important to note that a final cold front will move from northwest to southeast on Tuesday, bringing localized showers in the second half of the day. This cold wave, which has caused temperatures 4–7 °C below normal at times in late July and early August, is expected to end soon, making way for warmer stable weather.

In summary, starting Monday, expect a brief unsettled phase with some rain in eastern Germany, clearing and warming through the day, followed by a cold front with localized showers Tuesday evening, then stable, warm, and mostly dry weather for the remainder of the week.

Weather-forecasting services predict a cold front on Tuesday, affecting central and eastern Alpine areas with showers, while the west remains mostly sunny.

From Wednesday onwards, weather-forecasting indicates daytime temperatures in central Europe, including Germany, mostly between 28 and 32 °C with the possibility of heatwaves in mid-August, and below normal rainfall with only 3–5 rainy days and a total of about 30–50 mm of rain.
