Poker extravaganza continues with the APT Summer Festival Hanoi 🃏🏆

While the World Series of Poker (WSOP) is winding down, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) is keeping the poker excitement alive with the APT Summer Festival Hanoi! The series' Main Event, boasting a VND 5 Billion guarantee, is underway at the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP), Hanoi, Vietnam, and runs from July 14th–19th. The first three days will host the starting flights, followed by Day 2, Day 3, and the final table featuring 8 players.

Ritwik and Labroo on top

Flight Day 1A wrapped up, with India's Ritwik Khanna and Rubin Labroo leading the pack! Khanna bagged an impressive chip stack of 166,700 (208 BB), while Labroo followed closely with 161,700 (201 BB). Both players have now made it to Day 2, competing for the APT Summer Festival Main Event title. Interestingly, both players have recently showed their prowess online as well—Labroo shipped the ITM Thursday Supersonic on Spartan Poker for ₹3,96,562, while Khanna finished as the runner-up in the same event for ₹2,67,000.

Beyond luck and chips

The day ended with 23 survivors moving on to Day 2 from the total 67 entries. While Khanna and Labroo made the cut, APT Vietnam Hanoi Loyal 2022 Main Event winner Shardul Parthasarathi failed to proceed. However, there's still hope for Parthasarathi as there are two more starting flights left. Another Indian to make it to Day 2 was Yashwanth Thuti, proceeding with 68,900 chips.

INSIGHT: Past records reveal that Deepak Bothra from India gained significant recognition during the 2022 APT Summer Festival Hanoi, finishing second place in the Championships Event with a substantial prize of approximately ₹36.64 Lakhs[3]. Despite a lack of specific chip leader information in the Base Article, Bothra's success illustrates the intense competition with skilled Indian players.

APT Summer Festival Hanoi Main Event Details

As one of the series' highlight events, the Main Event features a deep structure and slow escalating blinds, ensuring players plenty of playtime. The buy-in for the event amounts to VND 22,000,000 (~ $940), with ‘25,000 starting chips and opening blinds of 50/100[1]. The blinds will increase every 60 minutes. Registration remains open throughout the day, with no limit to re-entries[1]. The event concludes with nine levels on Day 1, with players able to continue entering before the start of Level 12 on Day 2[1]. The Main Event is set to captivate the APT Summer Festival Hanoi with its thrilling gameplay!
