"David Maxwell, in his upcoming dispersal sale next month, is anticipated to deliver the same thrill and achievement to his new proprietors as he has for himself"
David Maxwell, a renowned figure in the horse racing and bloodstock industry, has announced his retirement from race riding. As a fitting conclusion to his career, a dispersal of his interests will take place at Cheltenham's Showcase meeting next month.
The dispersal, being overseen by Tattersalls Cheltenham, presents a rare opportunity for buyers to secure outstanding prospects for major jumps festivals ahead. Among the highlighted lots are El Cairos, a five-year-old son of No Risk At All, and Queensbury Boy, a Newbury winner who is one of Maxwell's other exciting prospects.
El Cairos finished fifth in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival and took second at Punchestown. Another promising bumper performer, Mondoui'boy, is also among the horses to be offered in the dispersal. Joker De Mai, a hunter chaser, is another of Maxwell's other exciting prospects. All the horses have already been catalogued.
Shirley Anderson-Jolag, Tattersalls Cheltenham sales manager, is honoured that Maxwell has chosen them for the dispersal. Staging the sale at the Showcase meeting, at the home of jump racing, provides a fitting tribute to David's remarkable career.
The dispersal will feature 17 lots, all to be offered in the sale ring. The auction is scheduled for November 4, 2025, following the Showcase meeting on October 24. David Maxwell expresses hope that his horses will bring new owners the same excitement and success they have given him.
This dispersal offers an exciting opportunity for buyers to invest in some of the best up-and-coming horses in the jumps racing world. With a wide range of prospects on offer, from bumper performers to hunter chasers, there is something for everyone at this much-anticipated event.
