Davey Todd to Make Daytona 200 Debut Ahead of Isle of Man TT Campaign
Davey Todd, the reigning Superbike TT champion, is set to make his Daytona 200 debut next month. He will race a Triumph Street Triple 765RS, the same bike he'll use in this summer's Isle of Man TT Supersport races with PHR Performance. The move marks his first appearance at the prestigious American event, where he'll join fellow TT star Peter Hickman on the grid.
Todd's Daytona entry comes as part of a busy season that includes both the Daytona 200 and the Isle of Man TT. He will compete in the Supersport category at the TT, again aboard the Triumph Street Triple 765RS. The bike has a strong record in the event, having been ridden by five riders—including Todd, Hickman, Lee Johnston, Rory Skinner, and Dean Harrison—in the 2021 Supersport race.
Hickman, a three-time Daytona 200 competitor, will also line up for this year's race. Todd, meanwhile, has spoken positively about his preparations, expressing confidence in the Triumph's performance. His focus remains on adapting quickly to the Daytona circuit while maintaining his form ahead of the TT.
The Daytona 200, scheduled for next month, will serve as a key test for Todd before his return to the Isle of Man. His participation in both events highlights the growing link between the two iconic races, with Triumph machinery playing a central role in his campaign.
Todd's debut at Daytona adds another chapter to his 2024 racing schedule. His performance on the Triumph Street Triple 765RS will be closely watched, both in Florida and later at the Isle of Man TT. The results could shape his season as he balances two high-profile competitions in quick succession.
