Dauphine 2025 Festival: Tadej Pogacar Celebrates 7th Stage Victory in Valmeinier Over Jonas Vingegaard

The One Man Show Takes the Crown Again!

That's right, Dude! Our boss, Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates XRG), has once again proven he's the undisputed king! On June 14th during the 7th stage between Grand-Aigueblanche and Valmeinier (131.6 km), the Slovenian superstar snatched his third stage victory for this year's 2025 Criterium du Dauphiné.[1]

Tadej towered over the competition, with an incredible performance, making the difference 12km from the finish, in the final climb outside the category to the Valmeinier station. This was after conquering the Col de la Madeleine and the Col de la Croix de Fer earlier in the ride.[1] He clobbered Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a bike) by a crushing 14 seconds, besting Florian Lipowitz (Red Bull-Bora Hansgrohe) at the line.[1]

Chaos erupted when Pogacar reclaimed the yellow jersey the day before, and he solidified his dominance even more ahead of the final stage.[1] Tadej now leads Jonas by a minute and one second, and is two minutes and twenty-one seconds ahead of Lipowitz.[1]

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step) had a disastrous day, getting dropped and eventually falling far behind, sitting in the fourth position, more than four minutes behind Pogacar.[1] With his 98th career victory, Tadej Pogacar became the active rider with the most wins, and a symbol of his unbeatable might.[1]

The Visma-Lease a bike team tried everything to stop the unstoppable force, but it was all in vain. They attacked from the beginning with Victor Campenaerts, sent Sepp Kuss in the day's breakaway, and intensified the race in the final part of the Col de la Croix de Fer with Matteo Jorgenson.[1] But nothing could bring down the firepower of Pogacar, who once again dropped Vingegaard and the rest of the favorites, similar to the day before at Combloux.[1]

Romain Bardet (PicNic Post NL) might have seen his victory dreams shatter, but not without a valiant effort. He tried to battle his way into the day's breakaway and then attempted a solo run at the head after the descent of the Croix de Fer.[1] Romain managed to secure up to 40 seconds advantage at the foot of the last climb, but was quickly overtaken by the favorites in the final climb to Valmeinier.[1]

The Fight Goes On...

Tadej Pogačar stands atop the podium, the current overall winner of the 2025 Critérium du Dauphiné, with 59 seconds leading over Jonas Vingegaard and 2 minutes and 38 seconds ahead of Florian Lipowitz.[2]

| Position | Rider | Time Behind Leader ||----------|------------------------|-------------------|| 1 | Tadej Pogačar | — || 2 | Jonas Vingegaard | +59" || 3 | Florian Lipowitz | +2'38" |

Bruno Armirail took the mountains jersey, while Lipowitz claimed the young rider classification, and Pogačar also won the points classification.[2] The battle for the overall victory continues as the riders prepare to face the final stage. Let the games continue!
