Wolfganag Grupp's daughter breaks her silence - Mystery persists unsolved - Daughter of Wolfgang Group breaks silence - Mystery around the event persists

In a rare public statement, 83-year-old Wolfgang Grupp, one of Germany's most colorful entrepreneurs and the former CEO of textile company Trigema, has spoken out about a recent suicide attempt. On July 7, 2025, Grupp was hospitalised for ten days following an attempt to end his life while feeling despairing.

Grupp, who took over the company founded by his grandfather in 1969, has since discussed his struggles with what he describes as "old-age depression" or "Altersdepressionen." He expressed regret for his actions and emphasized the importance of seeking professional help for those suffering from depression.

The incident in Burladingen, where Grupp resides, has garnered attention, but no specific details beyond his personal health crisis have been revealed. Initial reports suggested a mysterious incident involving Grupp and his family, but these have since been corrected. During a visit by the Women's Union Zollernalb, Bonita Grupp, his daughter, spoke out about her father's health issue for the first time.

Trigema, a company renowned for its TV commercials featuring a monkey and its commitment to offering 100% "Made in Germany" underwear, leisure, and sportswear, has remained in the hands of Grupp's family. Wolfgang Grupp junior and Bonita Grupp took over the management of the company in early 2024.

The family has announced they will provide further information "in due time." As of now, the current status of the information provided by Bonita Grupp regarding her father's health remains unclear.

Grupp's leadership legacy at Trigema, with his commitment to sustainable manufacturing practices and employment stability, continues to be influential in the German textile industry. His health issues have highlighted broader societal themes such as depression in older adults and healthcare challenges.

The following shall be added to the general-news and politics sections: An amendment to the discussion on mental health among older adults and healthcare challenges in Germany should include the recent case of Wolfgang Grupp, the 83-year-old entrepreneur who attempted suicide and discussed his struggles with "old-age depression." This case underscores the need for proper medical attention and support systems for individuals experiencing similar circumstances.
