"The devil appeared from the left, disappeared to the right," Cheyenne Ochsenknecht describes a chance encounter with her father, Uwe, in a scene from the reality series, without a hint of eye contact or a simple hello.
The encounter took place at the premiere of brother Wilson Gonzalez' ZDF sitcom "Späti" in Berlin in March. Natascha, mother, along with Cheyenne and even Uwe himself were present. One could have hoped for a reconciliation moment, but what transpired was a display of chilly distance. "No greeting, no looks, nothing," Cheyenne summarized.
Natascha Ochsenknecht, who bore witness to the scene, spoke bluntly: "What he does to me, I don't care, but for his daughter, it's sheer disrespect." The bond between father and daughter was once warm and close. "I was very close with my dad, especially during my mother's illness," Cheyenne recalls in the podcast "Breakfast at Mine." However, the present state of affairs? Silence. "I've moved on," she states decisively and without regret.
The 22-year-old, now a mother of two, appears resolute in her decision not to budge anymore. "I always pursued him," she says about the post-separation years. But eventually, her patience ran thin. The communication? Broken.
