SV Darmstadt 98 has secured the loan signing of centre-back Grayson Dettoni from FC Bayern Munich II. The 20-year-old defender arrives at the club until the end of the season and will wear the number 4 shirt. Sporting director Paul Fernie praised his ambition and willingness to compete for a starting spot.
Dettoni's journey began at Bayern Munich, where he joined in November 2023. He progressed through every youth level before making his Bayern II debut in September 2023. Over time, he featured in 45 regional league matches and signed his first professional contract in January 2025.
The 2024-25 season saw him loaned to Grasshopper Club Zurich, where he made six appearances. After returning to Bayern II, he played nine times this term—starting five—before Darmstadt secured his loan on 31 January 2026.
Fernie highlighted Dettoni's hunger to learn and his readiness to challenge for a place in the team. The defender now steps into a new environment, aiming to make an immediate impact.
Dettoni's arrival bolsters Darmstadt's defensive options for the remainder of the campaign. His experience in Bayern's system and recent loan spells provide a foundation for his role at the club. The number 4 jersey will mark his first appearance in the side's back line.
