New Hertha Duo's Inauspicious Debut: Coach Dardai's Critique
Hertha BSC's coach, Pal Dardai, voiced his disappointment in the performances of new signings Michal Karbownik and Bilal Hussein in Berlin's regional sports news, despite a commendable 4-0 victory.
Playing as midfielders in Hertha's Bundesliga 2 match against Altglienicke, both newcomers struggled to make their mark. Karbownik, who joined from the regio sport berlin, failed to create scoring opportunities with a lack of precision in his passes (61st minute). His physicality and ability to adapt to German soccer also came under scrutiny, as he was often hand-in-hand with his opponents on the pitch like a regional league adversary.

Bilal Hussein's physicality also left much to be desired, as he lost possession of the ball on more than one occasion, such as in front of Hertha's penalty area in the fourth minute. Dardai remarked that Hussein still needs to put in extra effort to thrive in the Second Bundesliga's physical environment, saying, "It was tough. The second division is physical."
On the flip side, Derry Scherhant, who attacked on the left, shone in the match, creating opportunities for his teammates by powering down the field and delivering strong crosses. He masterfully set up Marten Winkler's goal and contributed to the 3-0 scoreline with an assist to Florian Niederlechner. Scherhant later completed the rout with a well-earned penalty (71st minute), impressing Dardai with his flair and passion.

Although Dardai wasn't entirely satisfied with the first half performance, he was pleased with the outcome and the 90-minute endeavor of several players. As the new duo strives to find their footing in the team, one can only hope that they learn from this challenging debut and continue to grow and adapt as valuable contributors to Hertha BSC.
