Daniel Roher's Tuner Hits US Festivals in Black Bear-Letterboxd Tour
The thriller Tuner is set to tour film festivals across the US as part of a special partnership between Black Bear and Letterboxd. Directed by Academy Award-winner Daniel Roher, the film follows a piano tuner with a hidden skill for cracking safes. The collaboration will bring the Four Favorites format to audiences, blending screenings with interactive fan experiences.
The Tuner festival tour kicks off at the Miami Film Festival on April 9. It then moves to the Phoenix Film Festival on April 17 before closing at the Philadelphia Film Society's SpringFest on April 19. At each stop, attendees can record their Four Favorites at a co-branded booth and enter exclusive giveaways.
Beyond these dates, the film will also screen at the San Francisco International Film Festival and at university campuses. Audiences will be invited to join Letterboxd and post their reviews after watching the film. Written by Daniel Roher and Robert Ramsey, *Tuner* stars Leo Woodall as the lead, supported by Havana Rose Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Tovah Feldshuh, Lior Raz, and Jean Reno. The film premiered earlier at Telluride, Toronto, Sundance, and BFI London. It opens in select New York and Los Angeles cinemas on May 22 before a nationwide release on May 29. As of March 31, 2026, no further festival or venue additions have been announced for this initiative.
The partnership between Black Bear and Letterboxd will continue through the festival run, offering fans a chance to engage with Tuner before its wider release. The film's theatrical debut follows a series of high-profile festival premieres, with screenings set for late May.
