Bayern Loan from HSV Freed Up for Negotiations - Daniel Peretz seeks Championship revival with Southampton loan from Bayern Munich

Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz is set to join Southampton on loan from Bayern Munich. The 25-year-old struggled for playing time during his loan spell at Hamburger SV last season. Now, he looks to revive his career in the English Championship under German manager Tonda Eckert.

Peretz originally signed a five-year contract with Bayern Munich in 2023 after leaving Maccabi Tel Aviv. However, he was immediately loaned to Hamburger SV for the 2023-24 season. Despite high expectations, he failed to secure a starting spot and did not make a single Bundesliga appearance.

Hamburger SV has now allowed Peretz to explore other options as his loan spell nears its end. Southampton, currently in the Championship, emerged as a likely destination. Technical director Johannes Spors confirmed ongoing discussions, while reports suggest the move is close to completion.

Southampton’s German manager, Tonda Eckert, could play a key role in finalising the deal. His familiarity with the German football system may help Peretz settle quickly at the club.

The loan move would give Peretz a fresh start after a difficult season in Hamburg. If completed, he will compete for a place in Southampton’s squad as they push for promotion. Bayern Munich retains his long-term contract, leaving open the possibility of future opportunities.
