Dangote Cement’s $15B distributor rewards fuel pan-African expansion drive
Dangote Cement Plc has unveiled ambitious expansion plans while rewarding its top distributors with billions in prizes. At the 2026 Distributors' Awards Night, the company handed out 15 billion naira in rewards, including cash, vehicles, and CNG-powered trucks. These moves come as part of the firm’s broader Vision 2030 strategy to grow its operations across Africa and beyond.
The 2026 awards ceremony saw distributors receive 15 billion naira worth of prizes. Winners took home cash rewards, SUVs, CNG-powered trucks, and cement containers. Chairman Emmanuel Ikazoboh, who took office in 2025, commended their hard work and loyalty to the brand.
The company is also pushing ahead with major infrastructure projects. A new two-line cement plant in Itori, Ogun State, will produce 6 million metric tonnes annually, primarily for export. Expansion isn’t limited to Nigeria—its grinding plant in Côte d'Ivoire is being upgraded to strengthen pan-African operations. By 2030, Dangote Cement aims to increase production capacity to 90 million tonnes. The firm is also transitioning its entire truck fleet to CNG power by the end of 2027. This shift supports logistics efficiency while aligning with broader sustainability goals. Beyond cement, the Aliko Dangote Foundation launched a 1 trillion naira ($600 million) education fund in December 2025. The initiative will assist over 1.3 million vulnerable Nigerian students. Meanwhile, Aliko Dangote reaffirmed the group’s Vision 2030 target: transforming Dangote Group into a 100 billion dollar enterprise.
The company’s recent investments and rewards highlight its focus on growth and partnerships. With new plants, CNG-powered logistics, and a massive education fund, Dangote Cement is positioning itself for long-term expansion. The Vision 2030 strategy remains central to its plans for both business and social impact.
