In honour of the Grateful Dead's 60th anniversary, D'Angelico has released a collection of three guitars that pay homage to the iconic band's iconography. The collection includes the Premier Grateful Dead DC, Premier Grateful Dead SS, and Premier Grateful Dead Tammany, each featuring D'Angelico's Red, White, and Blue Lightning Bolt finish.

The Premier Grateful Dead DC

This semi-hollow, double-cutaway electric guitar boasts a laminated maple body, a slim C-shape neck profile, rosewood fingerboard, and medium jumbo frets. It retails for $999.99 and carries D'Angelico's signature design traits, including own-brand humbuckers, a Gold Tune-O-Matic bridge, Stairstep tuners, and a custom Steal Your Face headstock inlay.

The Premier Grateful Dead SS

Another semi-hollow electric model, the Premier Grateful Dead SS shares the same Lightning Bolt finish and art deco D'Angelico headstock design. While specifications were less highlighted, it is expected to share similar features with the Premier Grateful Dead DC, given its place within the collection.

The Premier Grateful Dead Tammany

The acoustic guitar in the collection, the Premier Grateful Dead Tammany, features a solid spruce top, layered sapele back and sides, and a mahogany scarf neck capped with a rosewood fingerboard with Small Acrylic Diamond inlays. It also comes equipped with an onboard Fishman Presys VT preamp system and has 20 frets.

One guitar of each model will be hand-painted with commemorative artwork for special auctioning events in support of Dead & Company's charity partner HeadCount. These hand-painted guitars will be exhibited at Dead & Company's upcoming shows at San Francisco's Golden Gate Park before heading to auction.

The collaboration between D'Angelico, Grateful Dead members, and related charity efforts began in 2015, blending traditional craftsmanship with iconic Grateful Dead aesthetics. The collection continues this tradition, offering a unique blend of music history and modern craftsmanship.
