Dancer in an Orchestra Sexually Assaulted by a Gang in Bihar, Despite Husband's Presence; Two Suspects Detained According to Police Statements
In a series of harrowing events, two women from different districts of Bihar have fallen victim to gruesome gang rapes. Let's delve into the harrowing tales of these women and the ongoing investigations.
Dancing to the Tunes of Terror: The Vaishali Orchestra Dancer Case (May 1)
It was an evening of performance for a female orchestra dancer from Vaishali district, who had come to perform at a wedding event in Shankarpur Diara with her husband. After the program concluded, the couple, unfamiliar with the area, asked a bike rider for directions. Unbeknownst to them, this seemingly innocent act would lead to a nightmarish ordeal.
The rider allegedly lured them onto a false path and called two associates. These men forcibly took the couple to a maize field, held the husband hostage, and then gang-raped the woman at gunpoint. The suspects then fled the scene, with the victim bravely reporting the assault at Shahpur police station.
ASP Danapur assured that the third accused will be arrested soon, and the victim has undergone a medical examination at the Sub Divisional Hospital, Danapur, and her condition is reported to be stable. Two accused, Manish Kumar and Manoj Kumar, have been arrested so far, with raids ongoing to apprehend the third.
Abduction at Sasamusa Railway Station: A 17-Year-Old's Ordeal (April 28)
In a similar horrifying incident that occurred near Sasamusa railway station in Gopalganj district, a 17-year-old girl was abducted while fetching water around 3–5 AM. The incident took place as she was returning to Uttar Pradesh after helping with her paralyzed father’s treatment.
Three unidentified men allegedly approached her, gagged her mouth, took her near the railway station, and gang-raped her. After committing the crime, they fled from the spot, leaving the victim at the crime scene. The police have arrested one suspect, Abhishek Bind, with two others still at large. The medical examination confirmed the rape, and an FIR has been filed under Bhartiya Nyay Sahita.
The ongoing investigations illustrate the vulnerabilities at railway stations, with victims stranded due to canceled trains. These incidents underscore the urgent need for enhanced safety measures and swift police action to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice for the victims.
