Dana White discloses preparations for a UFC event at the White House: 'It's definitively going to transpire'

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is set to make history by hosting its first-ever professional mixed martial arts fight at the White House on July 4, 2026, as part of America's 250th birthday celebration, known as America250.

The event, which will take place on the South Lawn of the White House, is currently in the planning stages with UFC CEO Dana White confirming the plans and ongoing discussions with President Donald Trump and Ivanka Trump for finalizing logistics and venue preparations.

Key planning details include overcoming challenges posed by the location, such as the 25,000-pound octagon setup and the unpredictable July weather on the lawn. White is scheduled to meet with Trump and Ivanka at the end of August 2025 to finalize event logistics, venue renderings, and event particulars.

Regarding fighters, several stars have expressed interest in participating, with Jon Jones and Conor McGregor among those mentioned. However, White has publicly stated that the odds of Jon Jones fighting on this card are "billion-to-one," citing trust and disciplinary concerns, so his participation is very unlikely. No official headlining fighters have yet been confirmed given the event is still over a year away and UFC is currently focusing on logistical planning.

The White House UFC event will be broadcast live on CBS, marking a shift from UFC's traditional pay-per-view model to a broader streaming and television audience reach. This change is part of UFC’s new high-profile seven-year streaming deal with Paramount.

Dana White recently spoke about the event on "CBS Mornings" and shared new details about the planned fight at the White House. He also discussed the promotion's new deal with Paramount during his appearance on the show.

Ivanka Trump reached out to Dana White for discussions about the possibilities of the UFC bout at the White House. White stated that the landscape for the event will change over the next several months. He also mentioned that many fighters are reportedly interested in being a part of the historic event.

The UFC bout at the White House is expected to announce further details in the coming months, making this a highly anticipated event for UFC fans and sports enthusiasts alike.
