"Dallas' Shakespeare Company to Revisit a Timeless Tragedy and an Oscar Wilde Masterpiece in Their 53rd Season"

Gather a picnic basket, a blanket, and a bottle of sauvignon blanc — it's time to unwind under the stars with some alfresco theater from Shakespeare Dallas!

This year, the annual Shakespeare in the Park Festival enters its 53rd season with a captivating mix of two very different summer productions: a spine-tingling Shakespearean tragedy and a rollicking Oscar Wilde comedy. And as if that wasn't enough, there's even a rom-com set in the Wild West for the fall!

All shows take place at the Samuell-Grand Amphitheater in Dallas, ensuring you won't be sweating through your picnic dinner because these shows unfold after sunset. The cool night air on the hilltop lawn creates an intimate and relaxing atmosphere for a night out under the stars.

Here's a sneak peek at the lineup:

*The Importance of Being Earnest* - June 13-July 18**

This lighthearted farce is about two dapper playboys leading double lives to dodge unwanted social commitments. As they navigate comical mishaps and cross paths with an assortment of hysterical characters, they just might find true love. The best part? You can catch the Fourth of July fireworks at nearby Fair Park while they extend the intermission!

*Othello* - June 20-July 20**

Experience one of Shakespeare's darkest tragedies set in an alternative history version of the 1990s. In this production, Venice remains the dominant political, military, and economic power. Othello, now at the height of his powers, faces an ethical dilemma when a malicious enemy threatens to destroy his life. Warning: This play contains outrageous twists, betrayals, and a fiery climax.

*The Taming of Shrew* - September 19-October 19**

Discover a bewitching twist on the classic battle of the sexes, set against the backdrop of the Texas borderlands in the 1880s. This production features dialogue in both Spanish and English, adding an exotic flavor to the timeless tale. Be prepared for rowdy humor, sharp wit, and a lot of unexpected surprises.

Let the curtain rise on an unforgettable summer and fall season with Shakespeare Dallas! Single tickets range from $15-$20, but you can save some cash with subscription packages starting at $55. Parking is $7.

If these shows aren't quite your cup of tea, why not check out these additional theatrical productions heading your way this summer:
