Dallas high school student Rhea Moore achieves milestone in National Women's Soccer League by scoring on debut match

Rhea Moore, a 15-year-old soccer prodigy from Sacramento, California, made her professional debut in the USL Super League and broke the record for the youngest scorer in the history of women's professional soccer in the United States.

Moore's journey began in her hometown, where she honed her skills with San Juan Soccer Club, quickly rising to become one of the top players in the area. Her talent did not go unnoticed, as Chris Petrucelli, the head coach and general manager of Dallas Trinity FC, spotted her while she was playing youth soccer in California. Impressed by her family's vision for her career and her individual skills, Petrucelli brought Moore from California to Dallas Trinity in Texas to advance her soccer career.

Moore's move to Texas marked the first time she had left California in her life. Since then, she has spent the past few months adjusting to a new life, getting to grips with the demands of professional soccer, taking online classes, and touring various colleges. Her hard work paid off when she earned a spot on the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) U-15 Playoffs Best XI and made the U-16 All American Team.

In July 2023, Moore made the NorCal State Roster and won an ECNL event, securing an invitation for the ECNL Phoenix Showcase. Her impressive performances continued, and she was eventually called up to the ODP National Select Team, where she showcased her elite skills with the U-16s and U-17s.

Moore's professional debut came in a match against Sporting Jacksonville, replacing Tâmara Paranaguá in the 74th minute. The young star wasted no time making an impact, scoring the only goal of the match and breaking the record for the youngest scorer in the history of women's professional soccer in the United States.

Moore expressed her excitement about training with professionals and her debut goal being a dream come true. She has committed to join the University of Southern California women's soccer team after graduating high school in 2027, but for now, she is focused on continuing to grow and develop as a player with Dallas Trinity FC.

Rhea Moore's story is a testament to her dedication, talent, and the belief of those around her. With her sights set on a bright future, she is sure to continue making history in the world of women's soccer.
