Dalibor Dvorsky shatters Olympic rookie records with six points in four games
Dalibor Dvorsky, the young forward for the St. Louis Blues, has made a strong impact at the Olympic Winter Games in Milano Cortina 2026. Playing for Team Slovakia, the 21-year-old has already scored three goals and added three assists in just four games. His performance has set a new record for the most points by a rookie in an Olympic tournament featuring NHL players.
Dvorsky's rise has been steady and impressive. Two seasons ago, he netted 45 goals in 52 games for the OHL. Last season, he added 21 goals in 61 matches for the AHL. Now, in his first full NHL campaign, he has 15 points—nine goals and six assists—across 47 games with the Blues.
At the Olympics, his sharp instincts and powerful shot have stood out. Teammates and opponents alike have noted his skill in the face-off circle, as well as his ability to find open space. His plan to play as a reliable two-way centre while taking plenty of shots has clearly paid off.
Slovakia's roster includes seven NHL players, among them forwards Juraj Slafkovsky, Martin Pospisil, and Pavol Regenda, along with defensemen Erik Cernak, Martin Fehervary, and Simon Nemec. Pospisil, in particular, expects even more from Dvorsky as the tournament progresses.
Next, Dvorsky and Slovakia will face Team USA in the semifinals at Santaguilia Arena on Friday. His focus remains on helping his country advance, but he has also spoken about carrying this momentum back to the Blues once the Olympics conclude.
Dvorsky's Olympic success has already rewritten records for rookie performances. With a semifinal clash against the USA ahead, his contributions will be crucial for Slovakia's medal hopes. After the tournament, he aims to bring the same energy and skill to St. Louis for the remainder of the NHL season.
