Dale Hansen returns with his provocative viewpoints in a new podcast series, broadcasting in North Texas.

In a surprising turn of events, iconic sports broadcaster Dale Hansen, who retires after a 41-year stint in September 2021, has resurfaced with a bang – this time, hosting a podcast!

Dubbed "Dallas Dialogue with Dale Hansen," this monthly show debuted on June 2, 2025, and hosted its launch event on May 29 at Cinco Cocinas in West Dallas. Hansen, feeling the need to speak out, shared his thoughts on our nation's dire need for open discourse, inviting everyone to join the conversation.

So why the sudden change? It all started with Hansen being a guest on "Beyond the Policy: Covering Everything Dallas," a podcast hosted by Mark Villasana and marketing manager Lila Levy. They noticed Hansen's passion and knew he had much more to say. The successful episode sparked the idea for a monthly podcast, giving Hansen ample opportunity to express his opinions on civic, government accountability, social justice, and cultural issues in North Texas.

The enthusiastic duo, Villasana and Levy, were thrilled to support Hansen's new endeavor, mentioning they felt honored to have him on board. Both shows are now available on popular streaming platforms such as Spotify, iHeartRadio, Google, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.

A stirring public figure, Hansen's commentaries delve into topics similar to his "Unplugged" segments on WFAA. Expect his well-known views on issues such as gun control, gay rights, and domestic violence to grace the podcast airwaves. Looking back, his national breakthrough came when he spoke about Michael Sam, the NFL's first openly gay player.

Hansen took a stand nine years ago, when a tragic sniper attack in downtown Dallas targeted law enforcement and Black Lives Matter demonstrators. He passionately believes that everyone should be heard, with the power of every voice essential to shaping a better future.

Although public relations executive Tammany Stern holds different political views, she supports Hansen's activism, expressing respect for his unwavering commitment to speaking his mind. Regardless of political affiliations, background, or race, everyone can appreciate Hansen's dedication to fostering meaningful discussions.
