Sheridan High School's Fall Sports Season Kicks Off
The 2025 fall sports season at Sheridan High School is just around the corner, with the football team set to start padded practices on August 14 and their first game scheduled for August 29 at Cheyenne South.
While specific schedules for golf, tennis, and other sports have not been detailed yet, it is expected that practices for these sports will begin in August. Meanwhile, the football team, the 4-time defending state champ Broncs, are gearing up for the new season. They will start their 2-a-day practices at 7am on Monday, ready to defend their title.
Elsewhere in sports, the Lovell team has already made a strong start in the A-League Northwest Regional Tournament. They won their first round game against the host team Burley, Idaho, with a score of 6-2. The Lovell team will play in the second round today against Montana Champ Bitterroot at 7pm.
In baseball, the Colorado Rockies are embarking on a 6-game road trip, with the first game being at Arizona today. The game starts at 6:10pm.
The Denver Broncos football team is also ready to play their first exhibition game of the season, which will be held tomorrow at San Francisco. Kickoff is scheduled for 6pm.
In the AA Northwest Regional Tournament, the Gillette Roughriders have already made it to the next round. They defeated 2-time Montana State Champ Missoula 4-3 in the 2nd round. Their next game will be today at 7pm against Idaho Falls.
On the golf front, Big Horn and Tongue River are scheduled to compete in golf on Friday at Upton and on Saturday at Thermopolis. Practice for golf, tennis, and 4A Football at Sheridan County High School begins on Monday. Golf competition can start as early as Wednesday for Sheridan County High School. Tennis competition can start as early as one week from tomorrow for Sheridan County High School.
