Daily Sports Update for September 19, 2025

In the world of sports, Wyoming is gearing up for an action-packed week. Here's a rundown of what's happening across various teams and events.

The Denver Broncos, the pride of the Mile High City, are set to visit LA this Sunday for a clash against the Chargers. Meanwhile, here in our own backyard, high school football teams are also readying for their games. Sheridan HS Football will visit East in Cheyenne, while the Big Horn Ram football team will visit Newcastle. The Tongue River High School football team will play at Moorcroft.

For those who can't make it to the stadium, don't worry! Several games can be watched live online. The Sheridan HS Football game will be streamed on the website and on Sheridanmedia's Facebook and Youtube pages.

The golfing enthusiasts among us will be delighted to know that Sheridan, Buffalo, Tongue River, and Big Horn are participating in state golf meets today and tomorrow. Results from the meets will be posted on the website sports section.

In the realm of volleyball, Sheridan HS will host Cheyenne South at 6pm today, while Big Horn has a week off from competition. The Lady Bucs will visit Arvada-Clearmont today and host Upton tomorrow.

The tennis courts will be bustling with activity too. The North Regional Tournament takes place today and tomorrow, with various matches scheduled at Cody Middle School and Powell.

Sheridan/Johnson County HS Cross Country will hold the Michelle Ludwig Invitational tomorrow at the VA Medical Facility, featuring races for middle school, varsity, and JV.

The Sheridan Hawks Junior Hockey team will conclude their season opening 6-game road trip with games today and tomorrow at Cody.

The University of Wyoming Cowboys will play their final non-conference game of the season tomorrow at Colorado.

In the realm of swimming and diving, Sheridan will compete in a dual today against Campbell County and Thunder Basin, and host Kelly Walsh tomorrow. Buffalo will host Douglas today and visit Worland tomorrow.

Laramie will play Sheridan tomorrow at 12-noon. Last year, Newcastle had the #1 rushing offense in the state in all classes.

Finally, let's not forget about our local baseball and pre-season hockey teams. The Colorado Rockies will play their final 3 home games of the season today, tomorrow, and Sunday against the LA Angels. The Colorado Avalanche pre-season starts on Sunday, with a split squad series vs. Utah Mammoth.
