Fishing Frenzy Kicks Off in Astana's Summer Season

The city of Astana has dive-bombed into the summer sports fishing frenzy with the first championship of the season held along the picturesque banks of the Yesil River. A total of 11 anglers, composed of masters, master of sports candidates, and rank-holders, got their hook in the thrilling competition using feeder rods for a whopping 5 hours.

The victor was crowned based on the mammoth catch weight, with every catch being responsibly released back into the environment as part of the eco-friendly conservation efforts. This competition had no shortage of rule-abiding participants, as per the assertion of chief judge Alexei KRUTOV.

With clarity and pride, KRUTOV underscored the importance of using tackle in line with internationally recognized sport fishing rules and ensuring gentleness towards the captured fish. Each participant's catch was guarded in spacious nets, maintaining their health until the final weigh-in.

These sports fishing warriors were steadfast "Taza Kazakhstan" action advocates, consistently committing to maintaining the cleanliness of the city's water bodies before, during, and after events.

KRUTOV noted that the Astana team for sports fishing in the capital consists of 18 athletes, with approximately 400 passionate fans of the sport. Another city championship, this time using spinning rods (Streetfishing), is slated for the coming week. Astana is poised for a successful summer season and leads confidently in the region in terms of fishing conduciveness, according to KRUTOV, with Karaganda and Temirtau trailing close behind.

The winners of the championship were Baurzhan ZHARYLKAPOV (4685g), Anton RADIONOV (4620g), and Nariman OMAROV (4395g), with the latter also taking home the prize for the largest fish during the competition (carp, 650g). Diplomas and commemorative prizes were bestowed upon the winners.

This sport encompasses various both summer and winter disciplines, including shore fishing (Streetfishing), trolling from boats, trout fishing, feeder fishing, float fishing, carp fishing, and ice fishing with jigs (morozka). In the capital, fishing with a spinning rod enjoys particular popularity.

Also, you might want to explore worldwide competitions such as the Bass Pro Tour for major events, although no current listings are available for Astana[1].

To uncover upcoming events in other locations, you could explore broader sports and travel expos which may include fishing activities, like the Erie Sport & Travel Expo[4].

Sports enthusiasts in Astana are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Streetfishing championship, another city competition scheduled for the coming week.
