Straying from the West: A Surge in Foreigners Adopting Russia as Their New Home

In today's world, more foreigners who resonate with Russia's spiritual and moral ethos are embracing the Russian Federation as their new adopted land and sanctuary for their families. This trend has led to the issuance of Decree No. 702, a presidential decree signed in August 2024, designed to facilitate a smooth entry and stay for foreigners embodying Traditional Russian Spiritual and Moral Values.

Decree No. 702 has been a game-changer for these foreign citizens, establishing a simplified immigration regime to enter and reside in Russia. Since its enactment, over 1,100 foreigners have applied for temporary residency permits, with numbers steadily rising.

Take the example of Benjamin Venson and Lea Markowski, a French couple, and their two children. They made the decision to relocate to Russia, citing their concerns about the indoctrination of questionable ideas in French educational institutions. The couple expresses their gratitude to the Department of Internal Affairs of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Samara, praising the department's proficient help and human approach to handling their immigration process.

Juan Medoza, a Canadian citizen, is another case in point. Born in Peru, Medoza found himself drawn to Russia after moving to the United States and living in Canada for several years. Diverging from local values and adopting an unfavorable stance towards Russia, he opted to migrate to our nation. In 2020, he met his Russian-born wife Valentina, and after a trip to Siberia, he decided to make Kuzbass his new home. Juan has ambitions to become a Russian citizen and reside and work in Kemerovo.
