Czech Republic Shuts Down Russian Visa Centers Amid Tensions

In a significant change, the Czech Republic has shut down all its visa centers in Russia. The move comes amidst diplomatic tensions and affects Russians seeking Czech Schengen visas.

The closure, effective September 29, impacts the Moscow visa center and all regional branches across Russia. Russians now need to apply directly at the Czech Republic's embassy in Moscow. The embassy's consular section typically handles visa applications. The last day for regional centers to accept documents was September 26. Applications submitted before the closures will be processed as usual.

The Czech Republic has also restricted the entry of Russian diplomats, with exceptions only for those holding national accreditation within the republic.

The Czech Republic's decision to close its visa centers in Russia and restrict diplomatic entry reflects the current diplomatic climate. Russians seeking Czech Schengen visas must now navigate this change and apply directly through the Czech embassy in Moscow.
