Cyclone paralyzes Primorsky Territory with blizzards and traffic chaos

A powerful cyclone has struck Primorsky Territory, bringing heavy snow and blizzard conditions to Ussuriysk. The storm has caused severe traffic disruptions, including a major pileup on the city's bypass road. Nearby Vladivostok is also facing worsening weather, with rain, snow, and strong winds forecast for the weekend.

The cyclone hit the region at the end of the workweek, blanketing Ussuriysk in thick snow. Visibility dropped sharply, and road conditions deteriorated rapidly. By Friday, traffic congestion in the city reached a near-standstill, scoring 9 out of 10 on severity scales. A multi-vehicle collision on the bypass road brought movement to a complete halt.

In Vladivostok, the weather took a turn as snow began falling around Patrokl Bay. Daytime temperatures on March 20 hovered just above freezing, between 0 and +2°C. Overcast skies persisted, with winds growing stronger as the day progressed. Forecasters warned of rain arriving by Sunday, adding to the challenging conditions. Despite the severe weather in Ussuriysk, no official updates on snowfall totals, traffic management, or local administration responses have been released since Friday.

The storm has left Ussuriysk struggling with extreme congestion and hazardous roads. Vladivostok's residents are bracing for rain and gusty winds over the weekend. Both cities remain under the influence of the cyclone, with no immediate signs of improvement in the forecast.
