Cyclocross athletes earn special Christmas recognition on the 3rd of Advent
Get Your Cyclocross On at Harburg Sport's Christmas Prize!
Wanna kick some winter blues butt? Here's your chance! The hardcore cyclocross crew is at it again, diving headfirst into the rocks, stones, obstacles and even carrying their badass bikes through running sections. But wait, there's a cherry on top – it's the annual Christmas Prize by the Harburg Cycling Community (HCC) – a season highlight for these badass bikers!
When it's the third Advent Sunday, put on your thickest spandex and join the crowd at Blackenberg Square and the adjacent park, where this 45-year-old tradition officially goes down.
The races will cater to various license and hobby classes, and the day's action kicks off at 9:45 sharp! The main event, the elite race, fires up at 13:40.
Keep your eyes peeled for the top dogs in the main race:- Max Heiner Oertzen, multiple German cyclocross champion- Frederik Raßmann, seventh at the professional gravel world championships- Jasper Pahlke, yet another multiple German cyclocross champ
One thing these adrenaline junkies have in common? They honed their skills under the wing of the Harburg Cycling Community since school days.
As part of the Stevens Cyclocross Cup series, our amateur men and women also get a shot at proving their mettle in the terrain!
Will your taste buds still be in shape after all that cyclocross action? Luckily, food and drinks will be on offer, including Glühwein, grilled sausages, coffee, and mouth-watering cake, all available for a reasonable fee. Why not try the two new hot soups making an entrance this year? Vegan or meaty variety, all yours!
