A gut-wrenching accident took place on a country road in Illerkirchberg, Alb-Donau district. The horrific impact of a high-powered vehicle clashing with a cyclist left two lives shattered: a 65-year-old woman on her bike and a 20-year-old passenger in the car.

According to police sources, the drama unfolded on a fateful Saturday. The driver of a swanky Audi A7 Sportback, labeled by law enforcement as a 'high-performance' car due to its impressive 244 horsepower, allegedly lost control in a bend. First, the Audi struck the woman on her e-bike head-on, and then it smashed into the concrete base of a high-voltage power pole, causing immediate fatality for the cyclist.

Four passengers were squished inside the wreckage, but the victims' agony did not end there. Firefighters used hefty machinery to extricate the victims, eventually rescuing everyone. Tragically, the 20-year-old male passenger succumbed to his injuries at a hospital.

The three other men, including the 22-year-old driver, were left with critical but survivable injuries and were rush-transported to hospitals. Rumor has it that investigators will set up a panel to determine the precise cause of the accident.
