Le Casse-Pédale (Visma-Lease a bike) has announced that the French champion won't be participating in the fifth stage, a 120km ride between Golmayo and Lagunas de Neila, on Thursday, May 8.

She's hanging up her helmet, prematurely ending her journey while she was outranked by 58 seconds in the general classification by Femke Gerritse of SD Worx-Protime. In the Puerto de El Buste climb the previous day, Pauline lost around ten crucial seconds compared to her rivals.
