Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe's Florian Lipowitz Rides a Customized S-Works Tarmac SL8

Florian Lipowitz, the young German rider for Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe, is currently making waves in the cycling world. His latest ride, a customized Specialized S-Works Tarmac SL8, is a testament to the team's attention to detail and Lipowitz's unique style.

The bike boasts a striking paint job, featuring a checkered graphics design with a metallic silver contrast. This eye-catching design was crafted in collaboration with Lumarcolors. The origin of the paint job, whether it was applied to a bare carbon canvas, remains undisclosed.

The bike's finishing kit comprises a 3D-printed S-Works Power with Mirror saddle, black/white bar tape, and a colour-coded white Garmin cycling computer. The bike also includes a decal kit and a 3D-printed titanium derailleur hanger by Silca, which is said to improve shifting over the stock hanger.

The bike's groupset includes 172.5mm cranks that drive a 56/43T chainring and a 10-33T cassette. The bike features Roval Rapide CLX Sprint hoops (63/58mm front/rear) shod in Specialized Turbo Cotton TLR 28C tyres. Although Mont Ventoux presents the opportunity to fit shallower wheels, the current build does not reflect this.

The bike's handlebars are Roval Rapide integrated handlebars, but the specific dimensions are not specified. The bike's derailleur hanger is a 3D-printed titanium component by Silca, a feature that Lipowitz's bike shares with his teammates.

Lipowitz's bike setup is within the UCI's proposed new rules. Currently, he is ahead of his team leader, Primoz Roglic, in the general classification of the Tour de France, a testament to his climbing abilities and the bike's performance.

It's worth noting that Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe riders, such as Jai Hindley, Primož Roglič, and Florian Lipowitz, have strong backgrounds in alpine sports or mountain-intensive disciplines. This background significantly contributes to their cycling success, especially in mountainous Grand Tours and stages.
