Cycling goods retailer REI broadens its cycling division, secures exclusive US distribution rights for Van Rysel gravel bicycles.

In an exciting development for cycling enthusiasts, outdoor retailer REI has announced a new partnership with French cycling brand Van Rysel, set to launch in April 2025. This partnership marks REI's entry into an exclusive agreement for the U.S. retail of Van Rysel's gravel bike collection.

The new line, which includes the Van Rysel AF 2 GRX model, is designed for gravel riding and features Shimano GRX components, ideal for tackling off-road terrain. Van Rysel, known for their performance cycling products, has expanded into gravel bike offerings, signifying their commitment to catering to a wider range of cyclists.

However, detailed information about the full lineup of models, pricing, and availability specifics through REI has not been explicitly found at this time. It's likely that further announcements or official product releases will clarify these aspects in the coming months.

In addition to the Van Rysel partnership, REI is also expanding its cycling business by partnering with other brands. Canyon Bicycles will now offer in-store servicing at REI's 190 stores, while continuing to sell its bikes online. REI's expansion aims to make it easier for customers to access great gear and member benefits, and to enjoy cycling.

The partnerships don't stop there. REI is also partnering with cycling apparel brands Stio and Peppermint Cycling, and Seattle-based bikepacking accessories brand Swift Industries. Furthermore, REI has entered into an exclusive partnership with Van Rysel for its gravel bike collection, while partnerships with Canyon Bicycles, Rocky Mountain, Swift Industries, Stio, and Peppermint Cycling are not exclusive.

Alicia Applegate, divisional merchandising manager at REI, stated that REI is committed to welcoming and serving beginner to dedicated riders. The new Van Rysel gravel line is aimed at adventure-oriented riders rather than competitive racers, making it an attractive option for a wide range of cyclists.

As REI continues to expand its cycling offerings, it's clear that they are dedicated to providing high-quality gear and experiences for cyclists of all levels. Stay tuned for more updates on the Van Rysel gravel bike collection and other exciting partnerships from REI.

Sports enthusiasts can look forward to REI's newly announced partnership with Van Rysel, which is set to launch in April 2025, as it marks REI's entry into the gravel bike market. This partnership demonstrates REI's commitment to catering to a wider range of cyclists, offering performance cycling products to accommodate both beginner and dedicated riders, making it an attractive option for adventure-oriented cyclists engaged in sports.
