They're still looking for a team of awesome volunteers to help make the event a smashing success. This year, both pro cyclists and amateurs will take on an exciting, altered route through the city.
For all the cycling enthusiasts out there, here's the scoop on this year's route:
Pedal through the City
The race will be cruising down the B506, making its way towards Romaney. The elite teams and Velodom 120 race will reach Bergisch Gladbach from Overath-Immekeppel, zooming past Voisculheim, Oberkühlheim, and Bärbroich, before following the familiar route through Herkenrath, Spitze, Herrenstrunden, Sand, Heidkamp, and Bensberg.
Get ready to cheer on the participants at the Velodom races, as well as the professional teams along the route, because thousands of spectators are going to be there! A special highlight awaits spectators directly at the Schloßberg in Bensberg, with a jam-packed stage program on the Schloßplatz between 10 AM and 4 PM. The professional race will be live-streamed on a massive screen, and the band "Triple Sec" will keep the music pumping with their eclectic mix. Plus, don't forget the mouthwatering cuisine provided by local caterers!
City's Calling Volunteers 📞
Cycling fanatic Sebastian Hempfling, a multiple participant in Rund um Köln, will be the master of ceremonies on the day of the event. In conversation with Martin Hardenacke, Sebastian will share insights from the perspective of a cyclist.
With the route change this year, the city needs more helping hands than ever before. Volunteers can expect a payout of €25 for their efforts, and a few exciting perks—like a ticket to a Cologne Sharks game! If you're game, reach out to the sports administration at 02202/142550.
For those interested in the 2025 event, organizational adjustments have been made. Unfortunately, the district of Schildgen will no longer be on the route. Instead, Bergisch Gladbach will be included from Cologne via the Handstraße.
